On October 15th, Police Chief Rick Shifley resigns.

On September 6th, The class of 1948 had their 55th class reunion. 30 classmates and 21 guest were in attendance.

On August 22nd, Mr. Harold Kellogg and Mrs. June (McManigell) Kellogg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

On August 16th, Mr. William Mackey and Mrs. Alice (Stahl) Mackey celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Recently Mr. Donald Rinehart and Mrs. Lois Ruth (Phillips) Rinehart celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

On July 26th, the class of 68 celebrated it's 35th class reunion.  It was held at the Galion Elks club.  There were 32 classmates and 13 attendees present.

On July 19th, Gospel Baptist Church, held its annual car show.  There were 168+ cars, trucks, and motorcycles on display.  To view pictures of some of the cars, please click here.

On August 5th, the citizens of Galion will be voting on a 6.84 mill bond issue for new schools.  If passed, there will be a new high school, middle school, and elementary schools.  If you are going to be out of town that day, be sure to get an absentee ballot.

During the Crawford County Fair, Chelsea Swick was named Junior Fair Queen. 

Class of 63 held their 40th class reunion recently.  57guest met at the Mohican Resort and Conference Center for a Western Barbecue buffet dinner and an ice cream sunday bar.  They are planning to start next year to have annual picnics in the Heise Park.

Mathew Binkley, son of David and Brenda Brinkley, completed "A" school at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, S.C.  He advances to Petty Officer 3rd Class of the United States Navy.  He was a 2002 graduated of Galion.

David Montgomery, son of Marjorie E. and James R. Montgomery. Made a port visit to Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates.  He is a Petty Officer 1st Class of the United States Navy and assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima.  David graduated from Galion in 1983.

8 year old Aubrey Hobson was killed from an apparent electrocution on 7/17/03 at the PECO II Park.  She was the daughter of Andrew Hobson and Michelle Comstock.

Fairview Road is now open.  The bridge going over the area of the US 30 new location, was finished on 7/17/2003.  Knorr road is scheduled to be permanently closed on 7/19/2003 to make way for the new US 30.

Melissa Moser, daughter of Lyn and Ed Moser, completed her sophomore year.  She is double majoring in sociology and psychology at the Wittenburg University.  She was named to the Spring 2003 Dean's List.  Melissa was a 2001 Galion Graduate.

Christopher L. Burkhart, son of Kenneth and Beth Burkhart, graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio Northern University.  He received a bachelor of science degree in biology.  Christopher is a Galion graduate.
